Full Moon in Aquarius - Belonging to the group or forging your own path?

The Full Moon in Aquarius will highlight issues around your sense of belonging to a group, or the need to individuate to follow your own unique path.  Both have their advantages, as there are times when we can achieve more by combining our ideas, skills and efforts, and other times when we need to recognise that we are no longer energetically, mentally, emotionally or physically aligned with others in our environments.  This Full Moon is a time to reconcile recent radical adjustments.

The past week or two have been fraught with conflict but also opportunity, as the conjunction of Jupiter and Mars in the mutable air sign of Gemini has fuelled mental toing and froing, a search for exciting and expansive new enterprises, new studies and the making of business deals.  There may also have been a desire to “clear the air”, or have discussions around partnership contracts. There has been a desire to get to the truth of matters.  

Unfortunately Mars in Gemini can act or speak in haste, especially when fuelled by Jupiter’s optimism (and at times overconfidence), building to a tense square to Saturn in Pisces which has caused restraints and created difficulties in decision making; instigating quarrels, disputes and unfair judgments.

Venus in mutable earth sign Virgo is more critical and focussed on the micro details, and has joined this tense meeting, opposing Saturn and causing emotional inhibitions, feelings of loneliness, stifled creativity, and feelings of lack of support or abundance.

Mercury in Leo desires creative expression but is currently retrograde and combust (hidden by the Sun), preventing communications from moving forwards, or perhaps a need for secrecy.  This is an excellent time to go inwards for reflection, as Mercury is in a profoundly metaphysical phase during this Full Moon.  A chemical change is occurring, requiring the release and elimination of the debris and dross we have accumulated, in order to regenerate and renew in the weeks to come.  This is a time of eliminating/letting go of that which has no future, despite the future path not yet having been revealed.  Allow your intuition, dreams and higher insights to guide you and let go of fear and a need to blame others.

Avoid signing contracts or entering into binding agreements under the influence of this Full Moon (and Mercury Rx period), as it is unlikely things will work to your advantage.  Take your time, reflect, do the inner work, consider others' viewpoints but allow art and intuition to guide you.  Acknowledge how your actions and ideas affect those around you and send out love and compassion, while also taking quiet time to visualise and manifest your divine plan.

The Sun in Leo may desire recognition and the need to take centre stage but now is not quite the right time.  The Full Moon in Aquarius is forming a tight square to its modern planetary ruler, Uranus, whose influence always brings sudden, shocking revelations which shatter concepts/barriers, providing new perspectives and allowing greater freedom of expression and individuality.

The Dream card I have chosen for this Full Moon is the card of Struggle.  The image is “The couple struggles together in equality.”

The message on the card says: “The nature of struggle is to break bonds to form new ones.  Opposition will strengthen us when used in the service of love.  Meet the enemy. May you be worthy adversaries to each other.  The time to fight is when you have been too caught up in each other.  Never mind who is to blame.  Enter the encounter not to win, but to oppose and unite by balancing each other’s energies.  Then make a resolution which takes you both to a new level."
